Buffy Dee (born September 15, 1923 in New York City , New York as Anthony Nicholas DeSantolo , † early November 1995 in Middletown, New York) was an American actor and musician , who mainly appeared in films with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill gained notoriety in the 1980s, but had already been in major roles before that.

DeSantolo also worked as a lawyer in Miami and ran a club called The Alley , consisting of a bar and restaurant, in Coral Gables , Florida and another nightclub called Caribbean in Miami.

life and career

The Italian-born Buffy Dee was born on September 15, 1923 as Anthony Nicholas DeSantolo in the metropolis of New York City in the US state of New York. In his childhood he suffered from polio and was therefore dependent on a wheelchair for several years. His health improved again, but he limped all his life. After he was taken into his 20s to Miami, he graduated from the University of Miami belongs School of Law in Coral Gables , departed from it in the 1954th He subsequently worked as a lawyer and later worked as a judge at the Miami-Dade County Court of Florida . As early as 1962 he portrayed a policeman in John Frankenheimer's Mein Bruder, a rascal . A year later he played the gay hotel owner Pancho in The Miami Cops, another very prominent role in his collaboration with Spencer and Hill, followed by a role as kidnapper in the 1986 Bud Spencer flick Aladin . While the voice of Pancho Wolfgang Völz spoke, was Buffy Dee's German-speaking voice actor in Aladin Lothar Köster . In early November 1995, after living in and around Miami for almost 50 years, DeSantolo died of lung cancer in Middletown, New York . Until his death he was married to Eleanor Korn, with whom he had no children.
