Sinsheim Castle

The castle Sinsheim is an Outbound castle in the castle alley in the southwest of the old town of Sinsheim in the Rhein-Neckar region in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle, the date of its construction is not known, was in the southwest corner of the former city wall. The castle has been in ruins since the 13th century and was destroyed in 1688. In the 18th century, a remains of a castle should have been left. Former owners of the castle were Elsenzgaugrafen . Nothing remains of the former castle complex, but archaeological finds from a small castle complex from the 13th to 15th centuries and traces of previous settlement from around 1200 are to be included in the design of the area as a public open space.

A tower of the castle is still preserved on a merian engraving .
