Burgstall Heimenegg

The Heimenegg castle stable is located on the Schlossberg, southeast of Heimenegg , a district of the municipality of Mindelheim in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ) and is a registered soil monument. On a north-facing spur there is an artificially elevated pointed cone with a ring ditch and ring wall. Upstream of it in a northerly direction, on a lower, sloping plateau was the former outer bailey . A rectangular area extends east at the base of the hill. On this area surrounded by ramparts and moats, the castle's farmyard was presumably formerly located.

The castle was first mentioned in 1256 in connection with a Chunrat de Haimenecke, a servant of the Mindelberg family. Later the castle is the seat of Dietrich von Dachsberg zu Heimenegk, in 1387 it is taken over by Duke Friedrich von Teck. The castle was last mentioned in 1464 in connection with a dispute between the Rechbergers Jörg and Bero.
