Reviews

The CMX 500 Rebel is certified in various tests to have a good chassis setup and a lively engine. In addition, the low price combined with the little noticeable drawbacks is praised.

“You should cruise with a cruiser. But when a cruiser becomes a cruise missile, eyes widen. The Rebel is not a bullet, but it can also be a bit serious and use its 45 hp perfectly to make it difficult for some alpha animals in the Winkelwerk. The driving dynamics are balanced, the engine is spontaneous and easy to turn and the brakes are absolutely sufficient. You can only see from a few details that the price also requires you to do without. But here you will definitely get more for little money than you would expect. Definitely test drive! "

“We all strive for diversity, and the Honda Rebel brings just that diversity into the A2 driving license class. It is a wonderful extension of the Honda model range and can not only convince beginners. The engine and chassis set-up make it a very relaxed cruiser that makes gliding a pleasure. The look is purely pragmatic, it practically shines with minimalism. A coherent overall package for affordable motorcycle relaxation. "

- Horvath : 1000ps.de

“Of course we can only answer it for ourselves - with an open yes. The little machine is more than brave, the handling is easy, the seating position is very relaxed for cruiser conditions. The chassis even provides a reasonably decent comfort, which is a laudable exception in this league of low-seaers. At the same time, the lean angle is okay. Of course, the grid will be set up soon, but not so early that you start cursing. The bottom line: a pretty, original, easy-to-drive motorcycle with character - and a presentable example that biking doesn't have to be expensive. "

- Maik Schwarz : motorrad-magazin.at

“In the midnight hour she cried more, more, more. Of course we don't want to wait until midnight to whet the corners with the new Honda CMX 500 Rebel. Honda has served us a successful surprise with the little Bobber, which knows how to inspire beginners, returnees and old hands alike. It is not only the easy and completely stress-free driveability of the Rebel that cast a spell over us, but also the black exterior of the CMX, which Honda deliberately kept in black, with which the Rebel comes across as shirt-sleeved despite its small dimensions. Many of the red pencil details, such as the boring muffler or the non-adjustable chassis, are not noticeable at first glance. Due to the low cost price of 5,990 euros, you can easily ignore such inexpensive old-school solutions as the separate steering lock attached under the fork bridge, the overall package of the CMX Rebel rocks too well for that. And good old Billy Idol with his evergreen Rebel Yell proves to us every day that a little old school still rocks damn well these days. "

- Timo Leichtfried : bikerszene.de

“In view of the manageable investment sum of just under 6,000 euros, the buyer understandably cannot approach the 190 kilogram Rebel with high-tech expectations. Nothing is required in this regard, not even an LED rear light. But even if the Rebel had one - who did you want to proudly show it to after the overhaul was done? No, the technical restraint and the visual presentation go well together. Because the Honda Rebel doesn't want to be more than a bad boy. She is basically a gentle nature. "

- welt.de

“If you want to immerse yourself in the world of motorcycles, you don't necessarily have to get on thin-wheeled mopeds. With the Rebel, Honda offers a real bike that not only makes big cheeks with its thick tires and offers 46 hp to get used to. "

- n-tv.de

“But should you even measure the little rebel against this bar? Because the XV 535 prevailed in its time with its own arguments: with a calm character, low seat height and - above all - a low price. With all this, the 5,700 euros cheap Rebel can also serve today. "
