The municipality Calanca is located in the middle section of the Calancatales , a side valley of Misox . Politically, it belongs to the Moesa region . Neighboring municipalities are Rossa , San Vittore , Buseno , Santa Maria in Calanca , Grono , Lostallo and Soazza in the canton of Graubunden and Riviera in the canton of Ticino.

history

The municipality of Calanca was founded on January 1st, 2015 through a merger agreement with four political municipalities. It is made up of the former municipalities of Arvigo , Braggio , Cauco and Selma .
