Carl Eduard Rotwitt
Carl Eduard Rotwitt (born March 12, 1812 in Hillerød , † February 8, 1860 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish politician and president of the council .
Life
Rotwitt first completed a law degree , which he completed in 1834 with the state examination. He then worked as a lawyer. In 1842 he was admitted to the bar at the Supreme Court .
Rotwitt began his political career in 1849 when he was elected a member of the second Reichstag Chamber in Folketing , where he joined the Society of Farmers' Friends ( Bondevennernes Selskab ) founded in 1846 . On June 13, 1853, he was elected President of the Chamber and held this office until December 2, 1859.
In 1855 he was also head of the office of Frederiksborg , which also included Frederiksborg Castle , the preferred residence of King Friedrich VII and Countess Danner .
After the resignation of Prime Minister Carl Christian Hall , Rotwitt was appointed President of the Konseil on December 2, 1859 by Friedrich VII. At the same time he took over the Ministry of Justice . He died in office of a sudden stroke . With the end of his cabinet, Countess Danner's influence on Danish cabinet politics also ended.
