history
The name of the place is derived from the Tagalog expression kabit sa binti .
The aetas , the early inhabitants of the country, performed a wedding ceremony in which the groom chased the bride to the river bank and tried to grab her legs (tagalog: binti ) while the spectators shouted, “ Kabit sa binti, kabit sa binti! ". It later became Kabinti .
