San Pedro ( Tagalog : Bayan ng San Pedro ) is a Filipino municipality in the province of Laguna , in the administrative region IV, Calabarzon. It has 325,809 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who lived in 20 barangays . It is classified as the first income class community in the Philippines and highly urbanized .
San Pedro is located in the northwest of the Laguna province, on the largest freshwater lake in the Philippines, the Laguna de Bay . The neighboring communities are Muntinlupa City in the north, Biñan City in the south, General Mariano Alvarez and Dasmariñas in the west. The topography of the city is characterized by extensive flatlands . The community is located approximately 35 km south of the metropolitan area of Metro Manila and can be reached via the South Luzon Expressway.
There is a campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in the community .
