Liliw is a Filipino municipality in the Laguna Province . It is one of the highland communities in the south of the province.
Liliw is known for its cold-water spring resorts, local homemade sweets, and a sizeable shoe industry that rivals that of Marikina City .

Liliw is located at the foot of the Banahaw, 17 kilometers from Santa Cruz . Liliw has a land area of 88.5 km². The municipality is bordered to the north by Santa Cruz, to the northeast by Magdalena , to the west by Nagcarlan and to the south by Dolores in the province of Quezon .

history
Liliw was founded in 1571 by Gat Tayaw. The name Liliw was used during the entire period of Spanish rule, this was changed to Lilio by the Americans, as Lilio was easier for them to pronounce. By resolution of the municipal council on June 11, 1965, Liliw was declared its official name again.
