Christian Habicht (actor)

Christian Habicht (born December 24, 1952 in Bad Segeberg , † May 15, 2010 in Dresden ) was a German actor .

Life

Habicht was already involved in numerous school theater performances at the Neue Oberschule grammar school in Braunschweig. From 1973 to 1976 he studied acting at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . In 1976 he came to the Münchner Kammerspiele under Ernst Wendt . In the early 1990s he had further engagements at the Schauspielhaus Nürnberg , where he played Hans Iver in Ernst Barlach's drama Der arme Vetter in the 1992/93 season alongside Patricia Litten and Jochen Kuhl , as well as at the Landestheater Tübingen and the Volkstheater Rostock . In Rostock he played a. a. in Meinhard Zanger's productions of Troilus and Cressida by Shakespeare , Don't always run away from Philip King and Leonce and Lena by Georg Büchner, and in Alejandro Quintana's productions Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez and Donna Rosita remains single or the language of flowers by Federico García Lorca . Together with the director Andrea Moses , he adapted Fyodor Michailowitsch Dostojewsky's »Die Gentle« for the stage. In 2000 he was a member of the ensemble of Peter Stein's Faust project , which premiered with Bruno Ganz in the role of Faust at the Expo 2000 in Hanover . In 2003, Volker Metzler brought him to the Theater Junge Generation in Dresden. Under his direction he played a. a. the engineer Kleist in Heiner Müller's cement and Faust in Faust episode 2 by Karsten Gundermann at the Festspielhaus Hellerau.

Habicht also occasionally took on roles in film and television. In the ARD - telenovela Sophie - Braut wider Willen he played alongside Yvonne Elliman faithful and loyal servant Theodore . In the fairy tale film Hansel and Gretel (2006) he played a forest farmer. In 2007 he impersonated a doctor in good times, bad times .

Habicht died of a heart attack during a rehearsal for the production of Nathan's children for a guest performance at the Mülheim Theater Days . He was buried in Dresden in the New Annenfriedhof .
