Ciechnowo (German Technow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and belongs to the municipality of Sławoborze ( Stolzenberg ) in the powiat Świdwiński ( Schivelbein ).

Geographical location

Ciechnowo is ten kilometers north of the district town Świdwin on the voivodship road No. 162 from Kołobrzeg ( Kolberg ) to Drawsko Pomorskie ( Dramburg ). It is four kilometers to Sławoborze . The elliptical mountain complex with the 177 meter high Kłorowka ( Klorberg ) forms the eastern boundary of the town .

history

In 1375 Hans von Wedel enfeoffed his vassal Koppe von der Labenz with four hooves in Technow. That was the beginning of a series of repeatedly changing owners, until in 1884 three fiefdoms, four farmers and three owners were named for the place.

In 1925 Technow, which included the forester's lodge Henriettenhof and Seehof (Ribitwy) and from 1928 Falkenberg (Jastrzębniki), had 535 residents in 46 houses with 101 households. In 1939 there were only 431 people living in the 2,154 hectare community with 106 households. The vast majority of the population worked in agriculture and cattle breeding, of which herdbook breeding and noble pig breeding were of particular importance. The only handicraft business to be mentioned is a forge.

Until 1932 Technow was in the district of Schivelbein, until it went up in the district of Belgard (Persante) . Technow belonged to the administrative and civil registry district Kreitzig (Krzecko) in the district court district Schivelbein . The last mayor before 1945 was Kurt Weilandt.

On March 3, 1945, Red Army troops took possession of Technow, followed by terror and looting. After the expulsion of the local population, Technow came into Polish hands under the name of Ciechnowo and is now part of the rural community of Sławoborze in the - newly formed - Powiat Świdwiński.

church

Technow belonged to the parish Grössin until 1945 , which was formed by the parishes of Grössin , Falkenberg (Jastrzębniki) and Pribslaff (Stary Przybysław). It was located in the church district of Schivelbein in the church province of Pomerania in the Protestant church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Ciechnowo belongs to the parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .
