Słowenkowo (German Neugasthof ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania about 30 kilometers south of Kołobrzeg ( Kolberg ). The province road 162 from Kołobrzeg to Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) runs through the village in a north-south direction . State road 6 runs from Stettin to Danzig about one kilometer north of the village in a west-east direction ; this street also forms part of Europastraße 28 .

Neighboring places are in the southeast Rokosowo ( Rogzow ), in the south Stare Ślepce ( Alt Schleps ) and in the southwest Kalina ( dairy ).

history

At the site of the present-day village there was originally a farm called Damerow, which is still recorded on the Lubin map of the Duchy of Pomerania from 1618, but was later abandoned.

In the 18th century there was an inn here on Poststrasse, which led from Stettin in the west to Gdansk in the east.

As part of the improvements that King Frederick the Great brought about in the Prussian provinces, in 1773, with royal pardons, a Vorwerk of the manor in Rogzow was laid out at the inn , from which today's village developed. Around 1880 the Vorwerk was separated from Rogzow and managed as an independent estate. After several changes of ownership, it came to Eduard von Wendorff in the 1920s; his widow Paula von Wendorff was the last German owner of Neugasthof until 1945. The estate consisted of 798 hectares of land (as of 1939).

With the formation of manor districts in the 19th century, Neugasthof initially belonged to the Rogzow manor district . In 1899 a separate estate district Neugasthof was formed and thus the economic separation from Rogzow was also politically understood. The manor district covered an area of 810 hectares (as of 1925). With the dissolution of the estate districts in Prussia in 1928, Neugasthof became part of the newly formed rural community Rogzow , which in addition to Rogzow and Neugasthof also included Leppin . Until 1945 Neugasthof belonged as part of the rural community Rogzow to the Kolberg-Körlin district of the Prussian province of Pomerania .

After the Second World War , like all of Western Pomerania, Neugasthof came to Poland. The place received the Polish name Słowenkowo .
