Colin Osborne (born June 19, 1975 in Middlesbrough ) is an English darts player who is currently under contract with the PDC . His nickname is "Ozzy" and his signature tune is Unbelievable by EMF .

Career

At his first PDC World Championship in 2007 , Osborne was able to reach the quarter-finals after victories against Kevin Painter (3: 1), Wes Newton (4: 2) and Roland Scholten (4: 2), but lost to Andy Jenkins 4: 5. He was able to build on this success when he reached the semi-finals of the UK Open 2007 , in which he lost to Vincent van der Voort by just 10:11 . In the same year he could also beat James Wade in the first round of the Las Vegas Desert Classic , but then lost to Peter Manley .

At the 2008 World Cup he surprisingly lost 3-1 to Dutchman Erwin Extercatte in the first round . The 2008 World Matchplay was similar , in which he beat Mervyn King 10: 7 in the first round and then lost 5:13 in the second round to Phil Taylor , who initially took the lead 10: 0.

Osborne lost also at the PDC World Darts Championship 2009 in the second round with 1: 4 against Vincent van der Voort after he had defeated the South African Charles Losper with 3: 0. Nevertheless, he made his breakthrough that year. At the UK Open 2009 he reached his first major final at the PDC and lost in the final against Phil Taylor 6:11. He won his first title in the Championship League Darts in 2009 when he defeated Taylor 6: 4 in the final. However, he retired early at the 2010 World Cup . This time he lost 3-1 to Australian Simon Whitlock in the first round .

In 2010 Osborne first reached the semi-finals of the Players Championship Finals , which Mervyn King was able to win 10: 8. At the Grand Slam of Darts 2010 , he first lost his opening match in the group against Robert Thornton , but then won against Whitlock and Dave Chisnall and was able to move into the second round in the second round. In this he was defeated by Gary Anderson 3:10. In addition to darts, Osborne is also a good table tennis player and has played in the English national team. He also became the English yo-yo master and goes to play snooker and golf in his free time .

Osborne was born in Middlesbrough , but now lives in Derby . He is married to his wife Sarah and has two children.
