Colton Lee Haynes (born July 13, 1988 in Wichita , Kansas ) is an American actor , model and singer .

Life

Haynes was born on July 13, 1988 in Wichita , Kansas , and grew up with his five siblings temporarily on his uncle's farm in neighboring Andale in Sedgwick County . He spent other parts of his childhood in Arkansas , New Mexico , Texas and Florida . His brother Clinton Haynes also pursues an acting career.

Haynes was married to Jeff Leatham since October 2017, and filed for divorce in April 2018.

Career

Model

Haynes began his modeling career at the age of 15 in New York . Haynes became known through a Bruce Weber photoshoot for Abercrombie & Fitch . He also participated in a photo shoot for XY magazine in 2006. Haynes then began modeling for Kira Plastinina, J. C. Penney and Ralph Lauren campaigns . In 2008 he also appeared in numerous magazines such as Teen Vogue and Arena .

He had his first small role as a young man in the café in the first part of Transformers . This was followed by guest appearances in series such as CSI: Miami as Brandon Fox and The Hills as a model. He also starred in the music video in 2007 I Do not Love You by My Chemical Romance with.

In the second half of 2007, he went to the casting for the film Twilight for the role of Edward Cullen . However, the role went to Robert Pattinson .

From 2008 to 2009 guest appearances followed in Privileged as Alexander , in Pushing Daisies as Ares Kostopolous and in Melrose Place as Jessie Roberts . In 2008 he got the role of Scott Holland in the television movie Always and Forever . That same year he attended the casting for the film Spectacular! for the role of Royce Du Lac , which however went to Simon Curtis .

In 2009 he got the main role of Shane in the Showtime series LOOK - The Series . The series is based on the 2007 film of the same name. In the same year he got a leading role in the ABC series The Gates , in which he played the role of the football player and werewolf Brett Crezski . 2011 followed another lead role in the MTV series Teen Wolf , where he played Jackson Whittemore . In October 2012 it was announced that Haynes would not return for the third season due to failed contract negotiations.

From 2013 to 2016 he served as Roy Harper in The CW - TV series Arrow to see. However, after being hospitalized for insomnia , anxiety , fainting and an ulcer , he left the show.

He has been on the main cast of American Horror Story since June 2017 .

In December 2013, Haynes' debut single Baby It's Christmas was released .
