The Condoroma District is located in the Espinar Province in the Cusco Region in south-central Peru . The district was founded on August 29, 1834. It has an area of ​​515 km². The 2017 census counted 937 residents. In 1993 the population was 990, in 2007 it was 1208. The district administration is located in Condoroma, at an altitude of 4737  m , with 533 inhabitants (as of 2017). Condoroma is located 63 km south-southeast of the provincial capital Yauri .

Geographical location

The Condoroma district is located in the Andean highlands in the extreme southeast of the Espinar province. Centrally in the district rises the 5235  m high Cerro Colihuiri. There are several larger mountain lakes in the district, including Laguna Sutunta and Laguna Pañe. The continental divide runs through the district. The south is drained over the Río Colca to the Pacific Ocean . The north belongs to the catchment area of the Río Salado , a tributary of the Río Apurímac . The northeastern district boundary runs along the watershed to the catchment area of Lake Titicaca .

The Condoroma district is bordered to the north by the districts Ocoruro and Pallpata , on the east by the districts Ocuviri and Santa Lucía (both in the province of Lampa ) in the south and the west by the district Callalli and in the northwest on the district Tisco (the latter two Districts are in Caylloma Province ).
