Döhlau is a hamlet-like district of the Frankenblick community in the Sonneberg district in Thuringia .

location

The village is located in the lower valley of the Effelder river on Kreisstrasse 33 and just before the border with Bavaria .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1330/1340. The community goes from 1516. 49 inhabitants live in the village in 2012. In 1900, Müller Keßler generated electricity with his mill. He already served the villages of Almerswind , Roth , Rückerswind , Korberoth and Weißenbrunn vorm Wald with alternating current . On July 1, 1950, Döhlau was incorporated into Seltendorf.

Today the village is away from the main streams of traffic.

Itzgründisch , a Main Franconian dialect, is spoken in Döhlau .
