David Imper (born February 19, 1979 in Bern ) is a Swiss theater and film actor and author.

Life

David Imper was born in Bern. In 1996 he began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York. A year later he switched to the drama school in Freiburg . He received his first engagements at the Freiburg Theater and at the Wallgraben Theater Freiburg . From 2002 to 2004 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Junge Theater Bonn . 2006 played the most theaters Bamberg to Werther in a new version of Goethe's classic. The production was invited to the Bavarian Theater Days.

In 2009 he starred in the movie House of Boys . In 2011 he made the movie Invasion by Dito Tsintsadze . In it he plays the leading role alongside Burghart Klaussner and Heike Trinker . Invasion celebrated its world premiere at the Munich Film Festival in 2012. In 2012 he was nominated for the “New German Cinema Acting” award for his role in the film drama Invasion .

In 2012 he was portrayed in Hella von Sinnen and Cornelia Scheel's book “Des Wahnsinns fette Beute”.

In 2014 David starred alongside Brigitte Grothum and Folker Bohnet in the hit comedy "An Oscar for Emily". Other roles in the Boulevard Theater followed a. next to Kalle Pohl in the comedy "Halbgott in Nöten" by Erich Virch at the comedy on the old town market in Braunschweig. In addition to Anouschka Renzi , he was seen in 2016 in “Die Kamelliendame” in Bonn-Bad Godesberg and on tour.

In 2015 David played the title role in the German premiere of the one-person play Montgomery Clift by Seth Jarvis. The premiere was at the Theater im Bauturm in Cologne. In 2016 he stood in front of the camera for the first time in England. In the drama "Lula" he stood next to Jo Weil in front of the camera. In 2017 the next film "The Revenge of Robert" followed.

In 2018 he played first with Martin Semmelrogge in Othello and later at the Neersen Castle Festival next to Tanja Schuhmann in " Im Weisse Rössl " and again next to Kalle Pohl in the classic " Charleys Tante ". Directed by Jochen Busse he could be seen in "Achtung Deutsch" in autumn 2018 in the theater in the town hall . At the end of 2018 he played again at the comedy on the Altstadtmarkt next to Bürger Lars Dietrich in "Der Gangster und die Nervensäge". In 2019 he played in the Christmas special of the successful KIKA series "A Fall for the Meerkats", which was nominated for the Grimme Prize . In 2019 he played under the direction of Pia Hänggi in the production "Spätlese" alongside Viktoria Brams , Christiane Rücker and Achim Wolff at the Comedy Frankfurt and at the Contra-Kreis Theater alongside Manon Strache and Peter Nottmeier in the hit comedy "The Truth About Dinner for One ".

In 2019 his first novel "Oliver und Ich" will be published by Himmelstürmer Verlag .

David Imper lives in Cologne .
