David Wing

David Wing (born June 24, 1766 in Rochester , Province of Massachusetts Bay , † September 13, 1806 in Montpelier , Vermont ) was an American lawyer and politician who was Secretary of State of Vermont from 1802 to 1806 .

Life

David wing jr. was born to David Wing in Rochester, Massachusetts. He moved to Montpelier in 1790 and settled on a farm. Having had a good education, he taught in the school in Colonel Jacob Davis' home in 1791.

He was elected Town Clerk of Montpelier in 1793. He held this office until his death in 1806. Other offices were County Court Justice 1802-1806 Secretary of State. He belonged to the Federalist Party .

In 1806, at the age of 40, he fell victim to a fever epidemic. He died on September 13, 1806 in Montpelier. His early death was regretted because he was held in high regard and given further political offices. His grave is in Elm Street Cemetery in Montpelier.

David Wing was married to Hannah Davis and the couple had eight children.
