Debbie Bowker

Debbie Bowker (actually Deborah Dawn Bowker , née Scott ; born December 16, 1958 in Victoria ) is a former Canadian middle and long distance runner .

In 1981 she was eighth at the World Cross Country Championships in Madrid .

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, she was tenth over 1500 m . In 1985 she won at the IAAF World Indoor Games in Paris about 3000 m . At the Commonwealth Games in 1986 she won silver in both the 1500 m and 3000 m.

In 1987 she won silver over 1500 m at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis. At the World Athletics Championships in Rome she was eleventh over 1500 m and came 13th over 3000 m. She also reached the finals in both disciplines at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. She was twelfth over 1500 m and 15th over 3000 m.

At the 1991 World Cup in Tokyo, she was eleventh over 1500 m, at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona she was eliminated over this distance in the preliminary run.

Seven times she was Canadian champion over 1500 m (1981-1985, 1987, 1991) and once over 3000 m (1982). In 1986 and 1990 she won the Vancouver Sun Run .
