Camryn Manheim (* 8. March 1961 in Caldwell , New Jersey , as Debra Frances Manheim ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Manheim worked as a translator of sign language in hospitals and was also interested in acting. Their skills in sign language you were useful a role in the ABC series Practice - Lawyers ( The Practice ) to obtain (1997-2004). She played the lawyer Ellenor Frutt in 163 episodes of this justice series , winning an Emmy in 1998 and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress the following year .

For her role in the miniseries Elvis , she was again nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in 2005 and a 2006 Golden Globe Awards nomination the following year . In addition, she received various other prizes. In addition to guest appearances in television series, she had supporting roles in the thrillers The Mercury Puzzle (1998) and Dark Water (2005).

In 2006 she got a supporting role in the American fantasy mystery television series Ghost Whisperer - Voices from Beyond . Here she played the friend Delia Banks of the main character Melinda Gordon ( Jennifer Love Hewitt ), with whom she runs an antique shop together, but without knowing about their spiritual abilities.
