Debra Schutt is a production designer and art director .
Life
Schutt began her career on the film staff in 1985 in the outdoor prop with Ticket to Heaven , a teen tragic comedy with Jennifer Connelly and Maddie Corman in the lead roles. In 1989 she worked as art director for the comedy film Miss Firecracker . Her films as a production designer include The Horse Whisperer , Sleepy Hollow and Spider-Man . Schutt's main field of activity is film; she rarely worked on television productions such as the miniseries Equality Knows No Color . She was awarded the Primetime Emmy in 2011 for her work on the pilot episode of the television series Boardwalk Empire .
She and Kristi Zea were nominated for the 2009 Oscar in the Best Production Design category and the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Production Design category for the literary film adaptation , Zeiten des Aufruhrs , but this year both awards went to The Strange Case of Benjamin Button .
