Dee Ex

Dee Ex (pronounced "Die Ex", like: "The Ex-Girlfriend"), whose real name is Mia Herm , (* 1982 in Berlin ) is a right -wing rapper who is positioned in the openly right-wing extremist music scene. Her brief engagement with the party Die Freiheit caused a sensation , from which she separated in November 2010 due to different political views on Israel . As one of the few hip-hop interpreters from the political right, she was a topic in various media - in addition to anti-fascist and right-wing media, as well as those who reported on various cross-front activities.

Career

Mia Herm began her career as a German rapper in 2008 and 2009. Her music was based on titles she produced herself and video clips that she produced herself and posted online on the Facebook and YouTube platforms . As an artist, she adopted the pseudonym “Dee Ex” - according to her own statements, a deliberately chosen analogy to the term “ex-girlfriend”, which nobody can stand either and which is annoying everywhere. Musically, the pieces were based on popular hip-hop productions. Herm placed topics such as the loss of German identity, a lack of national pride , the threat of “ foreign infiltration ” through “ multiculturalism ” and the loss of German sovereignty within the EU at the center of her texts . In 2011 it was listed in a symposium reader of the Brandenburg Office for the Protection of the Constitution as an example of the sophistication of the current right-wing extremist subculture. The first negative reactions came in March 2010. Facebook and YouTube blocked the musician's accounts - in the case of Facebook without comment, in the case of YouTube on the grounds that the sites violated the community guidelines. The magazine publisher Jürgen Elsässer , who is now considered a cross-front columnist and formerly part of the anti-German spectrum, suspected that the blockages were caused by critical articles that had previously appeared in Jungle World and on various Antifa websites. Music and resonance

Dee Ex describes her music as “German spoken word” or “patriotic rap”. Despite its clear demarcation from the hip-hop mainstream, Dee Ex received criticism in right-wing forums. However, the approval clearly predominated.
