Dee Ex

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dee Ex (pronounced "Die Ex", like: "The Ex-Girlfriend"), whose real name is Mia Herm , (* 1982 in Berlin ) is a right -wing rapper who is positioned in the openly right-wing extremist music scene. Her brief engagement with the party Die Freiheit caused a sensation , from which she separated in November 2010 due to different political views on Israel . As one of the few hip-hop interpreters from the political right, she was a topic in various media - in addition to anti-fascist and right-wing media, as well as those who reported on various cross-front activities.

Career

Mia Herm began her career as a German rapper in 2008 and 2009. Her music was based on titles she produced herself and video clips that she produced herself and posted online on the Facebook and YouTube platforms . As an artist, she adopted the pseudonym “Dee Ex” - according to her own statements, a deliberately chosen analogy to the term “ex-girlfriend”, which nobody can stand either and which is annoying everywhere. Musically, the pieces were based on popular hip-hop productions. Herm placed topics such as the loss of German identity, a lack of national pride , the threat of “ foreign infiltration ” through “ multiculturalism ” and the loss of German sovereignty within the EU at the center of her texts . An anti- establishment attitude is also typical of her texts, as is also cultivated in parts of the NPD and among the Autonomous Nationalists . In 2011 it was listed in a symposium reader of the Brandenburg Office for the Protection of the Constitution as an example of the sophistication of the current right-wing extremist subculture. The first negative reactions came in March 2010. Facebook and YouTube blocked the musician's accounts - in the case of Facebook without comment, in the case of YouTube on the grounds that the sites violated the community guidelines. The magazine publisher Jürgen Elsässer , who is now considered a cross-front columnist and formerly part of the anti-German spectrum, suspected that the blockages were caused by critical articles that had previously appeared in Jungle World and on various Antifa websites. At about the same time, a first interview with Dee Ex appeared in Junge Freiheit, which is considered right-wing populist . There was also a more detailed homestory in the magazine First! . Mia Herm was also at Jürgen Elsässer's side at the Compact event on July 7, 2001 following the attacks of September 11, 2001 with Jürgen Elsässer, Paul Schreyer and Bommi Baumann , as in the following episode Look who's conspiring in the series Entweder Broder you can see.

In autumn 2010 Mia Herm briefly joined the right - wing populist anti - Islamic Berlin small party Die Freiheit . According to her, the initiative came from the politician and former party founder René Stadtkewitz , who knew Herm from Junge Freiheit . Herm worked on the party program ; in addition, she was supposed to build up the party's youth organization . Various positions on Israel, which cannot be reconciled with Stadtkewitz's stance, led to the break in November 2010. The rift between the party and Herm continued, among other things, on the anti-Islam website PI News . Trigger: According to Herms' statements, PI News reported on the conflict unilaterally in favor of Stadtkewitz's position. As a German rapper Dee Ex, Mia Herm took part in the presentation event for the new Compact magazine in Ratskeller Schmargendorf in December 2010 . In addition to the ex- Left magazine founder and editor-in-chief Jürgen Elsässer, JF editor-in-chief Dieter Stein and Oliver Janich - the latter co-founder of the libertarian , social state-critical small party , took part in the presentation of the magazine, which was conceived as a cross-camp, anti-imperialist and directed thrust against the dominance of the superpower USA Party of reason .

In addition to the activities described, Dee Ex continued to work on her musical productions. The Junge Freiheit led as evidence of their popularity an above-average number of calls in the title Internet and named it the number of over one million. In the summer of 2011, Dee Ex performed together with the rapper villain051 in a youth club in Berlin-Lichtenberg ; a bigger appearance together with the right rock band category C took place on June 18, 2011 in Schönow near Berlin. A first CD was offered on the Schild Verlag website in 2012 . However, the main focus of their presence is still music clips and articles on the Internet. The company's own website is flanked by a fan website called No Hoe Army, which is maintained by friends - according to their own statements . Fan page slogan: Being German is not a crime . As an expression of her anti-Zionist stance, she took part in the al-Quds demonstration in Berlin on August 18, 2012 as part of al-Quds day . Musically, she performed - together with Category C singer Hannes Ostendorf - a singing guest part on the album Deutsche Jungs from Category C. Together with the rapper villain051 she recorded a cover version of the title Frei born - a piece by Landser - Singer Michael Regener founded the follow-up formation The Lunikoff Conspiracy , which was also included on the school yard CD 2009 distributed by the NPD .

Music and resonance

Dee Ex describes her music as “German spoken word” or “patriotic rap”. In an interview on the right-wing extremist site NID infoblog , she opposed the ascription of having nothing to do with rock music . She also contradicted the view that she was in competition with the former singer of the Landser group , Michael Regener, in the field of national music . One of the positive points of reference for her is Walther von der Vogelweide . In terms of her personal attitude, she is shaped by philanthropy and sees the good in everyone first. When it comes to patriotic music, in the end it doesn't matter whether someone is doing rock, pop , rap, metal , folk music or traditional songs. Honest, non-conforming music is a means of expressing worries, fears, frustration or personal wishes. She clearly differentiates her music from so-called ghetto rap . On this train she described Bushido and the rapper Lady Bitch Ray as inauthentic or anti-German . In contrast to these, she claims for herself a real (instead of merely flaunted) inadequacy to the current system - an attitude for which she would not compromise on mainstream offers that have already been signaled.

Despite its clear demarcation from the hip-hop mainstream, Dee Ex received criticism in right-wing forums. However, the approval clearly predominated. The weekly newspaper Jungle World outlined this as follows: “The woman cannot complain about a lack of support. 'I admire her as a person and as an artist', confesses the reader with the pseudonym Max Mustermann in the online comment column of Junge Freiheit (JF). The readers of the Politically Incorrect (PI) weblog are also impressed. 'Germany has just given birth to the real superstar,' enthuses a user named Spuky. On the right-wing extremist Nid Infoblog, the woman is paid 'respect' and a 'compliment' is made. Some admirers even use higher powers, such as a Helmut Bauer on the side of the JF: 'The Lord bless and protect you and give you wisdom for every further step!' "On Facebook she gives with slogans like" Show courage against real violence " clear signs to the scene that the “dissident leftists” are just as welcome, she writes on her pin board. Occupy posters like "I'm not anti-system, system is anti-me" included.

The publicist Jürgen Elsässer , who was controversial because of his cross-front strategy , saw positive points of contact : “'It is not a crime to be German.' Who wanted to dispute this sentence? She makes music on this line. OK, I only heard a few things, but that was totally ok and sounded good. Maybe she'll miss the mark one day - ok, she's allowed to, she's still young. In any case, it clearly distinguishes itself from right-wing radicalism, and it does not want to have anything to do with the relevant parties DVU , NPD, etc. She is quite simply a patriot and could become the voice of thousands who think similarly, because her music is modern and not smelly like the folkish Schrummschrumm. Your latest web entry is by the way a quote from Heinrich Heine , the great German freedom fighter, a Jew . "

The artist names conservatives such as Roland Koch , Arnulf Baring and right-wing populists as well as the author Udo Ulfkotte as political role models . Anti-fascist publications consider the demarcation from the right-wing extremist fringes to be tactically motivated or untrustworthy. On the occasion of a portrait article about the singer Netz gegen Nazis , the web portal of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation , stated a surge in modernity that can be observed in the right-wing extremist scene as well as in normal society. At least on the singer's Facebook page at the time, according to Netz gegen Nazis , there was hardly any noticeable distance from the far- right scene. “Here, Dee Ex posts swastika- shaped bottle openers , garnishes sexy pictures with the slogan 'Antifa shut up - Germany doesn't need you'. and announces that her favorites include the sensational right-wing populist ' Kopp-Verlag ', the nationalist ' German military magazine ' and the far-right news magazine 'First', both from Dietmar Munier's publishing house'lesen und Schenken '.
