Deisenhofen Forest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Deisenhofener Forst is an 11.83 km 2 formerly community-free forest area south of Deisenhofen . Together with the Perlacher Forest , the Forstenrieder Park and the Grünwalder Forest, it belongs to the "Southern Operating Class" of the Bavarian State Forestry Operations Munich and is of considerable importance as a local recreation area for the residents of Munich and its immediate vicinity.

The Deisenhofen Forest encloses an irregularly shaped area between Oberhaching , Ödenpullach and Sauerlach . Like the neighboring forests to the north, the Deisenhofen Forest has no significant natural elevations and is traversed by a grid of square forestry roads and the Munich – Holzkirchen railway line .

Waters

Deer fountain

The Deisenhofen Forest is located in the area of the Munich gravel plain , and because of the permeable, superficial gravel layer, there are very few standing or flowing water. Smaller surface waters are only the deer well and a partially water-filled gravel pit. An aqueduct of water management importance runs through the forest in a lane.
