Diavolino is a former Swiss automobile manufacturer that existed from 1984 to 1986.

description

Marcel Oswald presented the public in 1984 with a successor to Lawil S3 , which was discontinued in 1980 ; an almost identical buggy with the name Diavolino (in English : little devil), which was intended to appeal specifically to the younger generation. Only the front was revised, which now resembles the current Jeep SUVs.

Romay AG in Oberkulm / Aargau took over the production and assembly of the body parts . ZBR Automobile AG took over the sales . The outdated engines of the Lawil S3 were adopted as the engine. In addition to the redesign of the front, the fact that the vehicle was allowed to be driven in Switzerland from the age of 16 contributed to the rapid success of the new model. The basic price of the Diavolino was CHF  7,380 . With its rapid success, the company looked to overseas markets and hoped to generate the necessary sales there too. Accordingly, BAROQ SA was founded with a workforce of ten people. But because of the standards in force in the USA, new engines had to be used for the officially smallest convertible in the world. Four-stroke petrol engines were ultimately used.

In 1986 the financial situation of the companies worsened due to the slump in sales. Production of the Diavolino was discontinued that same year.
