Zürcher, Automobilfabrik Orion AG , previously Zürcher & Huber, Automobilfabrik Orion , was a Swiss manufacturer of automobiles , trucks and automotive accessories.

Alfred Zürcher, who previously worked for the Martini weapons factory, opened a workshop in the Zurich district of Hottingen in 1898 . On June 21, 1900, together with Jean Huber, he founded the company Zürcher & Huber, Orion automobile factory for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Orion . Initially, automobiles were made. From 1902 only trucks and buses were produced . Between 1903 and 1905, 50 copies of the Oldsmobile Curved Dash were imported and sold. In 1904 it was converted into a stock corporation called Zürcher, Automobilfabrik Orion AG . Subsidiaries existed in Bologna and Marseille . Vehicle production ended in 1910. In addition to repairing commercial vehicles, the company now manufactured radiators . Between 1918 and 1935 Mathis vehicles were sold . Then rims, radiators, car heaters and other accessories were made. In 1976 or 1977 the takeover by the international technology group AL-KO followed .

Passenger car vis-à-vis

The only model was the Vis-à-vis . A water-cooled single - cylinder engine was mounted in the front of the vehicle and drove the rear axle. The vis-à-vis body shape offered space for four people.
