Weinem Automobile is a Swiss car garage and manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The racing driver Jürg Weinem has been running a petrol station in Thalwil since 1972 . At the same time, he offered buggies both as kits and fully assembled. In 1978 a contract was signed with Citroën for sales and repairs. Weinem also makes replicas of classic automobiles. Around 1989 the company moved to Horgen .
vehicles
Initially, around 250 buggies were built on the chassis of the VW Beetle . Four - cylinder boxer engines provided the drive .
Around 1980 the production of replicas of the AC Cobra was added, which continues to this day. Weinem also produces its own chassis . V6 and V8 engines from Ford with up to 400 hp provide the drive . The body consists of either plastic or aluminum .
