The Seebacher Maschinenbau AG was a Swiss company in the field of mechanical engineering and manufacturers of automobiles .
Company history
In 1912, Mathias Klüglein took over the company Aufzüge- undräderfabrik Seebach (ARSAG), which was founded in 1910 . Both the names Maschinenbau AG and Seebacher Maschinenbau AG can be found for the new company . The company headquarters was at Schaffhauser Strasse 468 in Seebach . Elevators, car engines, gears, machine guns, ammunition and cable cars were on offer. In 1918 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Seebacher . Automobile production ended depending on the source in 1921 or 1924. A total of several dozen automobiles were built. In 1924 the company went into liquidation .

Rudolf Egg, who previously founded Egg & Egli and then manufactured Moser automobiles under the brand name Egg with the help of Fritz Moser from Moteurs , was the vehicle designer.
Initially, the Egg model continued to be produced. A four-cylinder engine from Zedel provided the drive. The engine was mounted in the front of the vehicle and powered the rear axle via a cardan shaft . A special feature was that the transmission was arranged in a transaxle design on the rear axle.
In addition, a new 11 hp model was created , which was also equipped with a four-cylinder Zedel engine. A special feature was an electric starter . This model was advertised in the Automobil Revue on April 29, 1921.
