Eugen Kaufmann was a Swiss manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Eugen Kaufmann, who was trained at the Bernina sewing machine factory and then at Benz & Cie. was active, founded the company that bore his name in Tägerwilen in 1896 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Kaufmann . Within a few months the workforce grew to 20 men. Production ended in 1905. Kaufmann founded Automobile Millot AG in 1906 .

The first model had a three-cylinder engine . The engine power was transmitted to the drive axle by means of a belt. The 12 HP model was later on offer. There was a choice of chain and friction wheel drive. The company also produced a few buses with 20 seats.
