Hercules Automobil-Maschinenfabrik AG, formerly C. Weber-Landolt was a Swiss manufacturer of automobiles and trucks .

Company history

Carl Weber-Landolt, who had studied in Paris , set up a mechanical department in the paint and chemical factory of his father GH Weber-Fischer in Menziken in 1884 . In 1900 he started producing automobiles and trucks. The brand name was Hercules or Hercule in France . In 1906 he converted the company into a stock corporation . Production ended in 1913. Most recently the company had 40 employees.

The 6 hp model had a single cylinder engine . The Tonneau body shape offered space for four people. The design-related maximum speed was specified as 30 km / h. The price including headlights and tires was 2,800 Swiss francs . The 12 hp model was equipped with a four-cylinder engine. The Break body shape offered space for eight people. The price was 6,000 francs. Automobile production ended around 1902.

There were many different types on offer. The engines developed either 6, 10, 14, 16 or 30 hp . Only two-cylinder engines were used until 1906 . The payload of the vehicles was between 1250 and 7500 kg. An omnibus with eight seats was also offered.
