Company history

Alois Barmettler founded the company in Buochs in 1962 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Beach Buggy . Production ended in 1966. Barmettler later founded the Alois Barmettler company .

Barmettler produced under a license from Competition Components Inc. The vehicles were buggies . For this purpose, open bodies were mounted on shortened chassis from the VW Beetle . Four - cylinder boxer engines from Volkswagen provided the drive .
