Franke & Co. was a Swiss manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company from Neuhausen am Rheinfall manufactured car bodies. In 1975, the production of automobiles began under the direction of Wolfgang Franke. The brand name was Franke . Their production ended around 1983. Also in 1983 a German company tried to build under license .
vehicles
Franke made VW buggies . The first model was the Buggy 75 . The shortened chassis of the VW Beetle formed the basis. A plastic body was mounted on top. This model had a fixed roof but no doors. The new price was 4950 Swiss francs for the kit. Four - cylinder boxer engines from Volkswagen with an output of 34 to 50 hp provided the drive .
The Joker 76 followed in 1976 . This was a pickup truck that could be turned into a coupe or station wagon . The chassis from VW 1300 and VW 1302 formed the basis. The engines developed up to 50 hp.
In 1977 other models not described in detail followed.
