Dieter Schidor

Dieter Schidor (born March 6, 1948 in Bienrode , † September 17, 1987 in Munich ) was a German actor.

Life

After Schidor initially studied law and graduated from the university with the academic degree Dr. jur. graduated, he applied to be an actor. He made his debut in the television film Piggies , directed by Peter Zadek . Schidor played under directors such as Wolfgang Staudte , Sam Peckinpah , Costa-Gavras and Rainer Werner Fassbinder . He was used very often by George Moorse .

Dieter Schidor gained notoriety through the ZDF adventure four-parter Der Seewolf , broadcast in 1971 , in which he played the youthful title hero Wolf Larsen, alias "Frisco Kid". From then on, Schidor was seen more often on television, for example in series such as Der Kommissar , Derrick , Der Alte or Tatort . Very often he gave it to the mentally unstable criminals.

Schidor also worked as an actor and producer on the film adaptation of Jean Genet's novel Querelle by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. About the shooting of this film, Schidor made the documentary The Farmer of Babylon; this film shows the last longer interview with Rainer Werner Fassbinder.

From 1977 to 1986 Schidor lived with the New Zealand actor and producer Michael McLernon .

In 1986 his partner Michael died of AIDS . Schidor, who was also infected, attempted suicide which led to debilitation, from which he died of AIDS in 1987 at the age of 39. Dieter Schidor was buried in the Querum cemetery in Braunschweig . He was later reburied in a grave of honor .
