Dietershausen is a part of the municipality of Künzell in the Fulda district in East Hesse .

Geographical location

Dietershausen is located in the Vorderen Rhön , on the western edge of the Hessian Rhön Nature Park and in the west of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve . It is located about 7.5 km southeast of the Künzeller core town. With the approximately 590  m high gable rises the highest mountain in the municipality of Künzell in the local area; the Motzküppel ( 452.9  m ) belongs to the surrounding mountains . The Haune, which rises on the Giebelrain, flows through the village.

Dietershausen borders in the north on Kohlgrund , in the east on Dörmbach , in the southeast on Steinwand , in the south on Weyhers , in the southwest on Pilgerzell and in the west on Dassen .

history

Dietershausen was first mentioned in 810. The manor and landowner was the Fulda monastery . A pastor was mentioned as early as 1226 and the patronage was St. Bartholomew (Apostle) in 1300 and 1656 .

The abbot of Fulda held the patronage and the right of collation in 1494 .

Lütter (1455), Schmalnau (1383), Ried (1600) and Thalau (1600) belonged to the large parish of Dietershausen . The former affiliation of Poppenhausen , Gersfeld and Hettenhausen can be identified. The ecclesiastical central authority was in 1464/65: Diocese of Würzburg , Archdiakonat Karlstadt

Change of confession: Introduction of the Reformation from 1537 by Von Ebersberg . Change of Catholic confession: in 1603, under Prince Abbot Balthasar von Dernbach, the last inhabitants returned to the Catholic Church on the occasion of a re- Catholicization.

Reorganization

On December 31, 1971, the formerly independent municipality in the Fulda district was incorporated into the municipality of Künzell as part of the regional reform .

The Schoenstatt Center

with the church was inaugurated on December 22, 1973 by the Fulda Bishop Adolf Bolte . In the former provincial house of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary , Auxiliary Bishop Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Diez profaned . Then the takeover and sale of the extensive building complex including the church to the " Christian Community Rhön eV " took place.

The previous owner, the Caritas Association Fulda, took over the property from the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary in 2016 and set up and looked after several residential groups in the spacious house for unaccompanied minor refugees by the end of 2018. After the house is no longer needed for refugees , the Caritas Association has found a new buyer with the Christian Community Rhön eV. The Mennonite Christians ("Brethren Congregation") already had the right of use in the current year 2019 and they will acquire the house including the church space on January 1, 2020.
