Doğanlı (Kurd. Ertuş ) is a village in the Yüksekova district of the Turkish province of Hakkâri . Doğanlı is located in southeastern Anatolia at 2,484 m above sea level, approx. 19 km south of Yüksekova.

Surname

The Kurdish name of the place is Ertuş. This goes back to the Ertuşi tribe , who originally came from the province. Ertuş was the Kurdish name Uzunderes, the place of origin of the residents of Doğanlıs. The name Ertuş is registered with the land registry.

history

Doğanlı is a new town. It was founded in 2002 or 2003 on a building site in the immediate vicinity of the hamlet of Kamışlı (ku. Sinava or Sinawa). The residents call the settlement Doğanlı kampı (Eng. "Doğanlı Camp") because of its camp character.

The inhabitants come from the border village Uzundere, which was dissolved in 1998, in the Çukurca district on the Turkish-Iraqi border. According to Muhtar Musa Alkans, 6,500 people were resettled from there in the mid-1990s because their safety could no longer be guaranteed due to the armed struggle of the PKK . The resettled people were Kurdish village guards and their families who were viewed by the PKK as traitors. The people first lived with relatives for a few months, then for a year in tents on the road connecting Van and Hakkâri and then for six years in the village of Yeni Doğanlı near Hakkâri. This village was assigned to them by the then provincial governor Kemal Çelik. It was closed due to the danger of avalanches.

In 2002 or 2003 the people were settled in what is now Doğanlı. Until 2004 people lived in makeshift arrangements.

Residents and infrastructure

The Doski tribe also lives in the region, which leads to tribal conflicts that are also fought armed. In 2009 the settlement comprised 204 households. The houses are one story. 100 men earn their living as village guards. Doğanlı has a primary school (Doğanlı Kampı İlköğretim Okulu) and a mosque. Drinking water and electricity supplies are inadequate. There are no paved roads or sewers.

In 2009 the village had 1,030 inhabitants.
