Dubove (Ukrainian Дубове ; Russian Дубовое / Dubowoje , German rarely Dombo / Cathedral Building , Slovak Dubové , Hungarian Dombó , Romanian Dambu ) is an urban-type settlement in the Western Ukraine ( Zakarpattia Oblast , Tiachiv Raion ) about 33 kilometers northeast of the city Tyachiv .
The place with about 9200 inhabitants is located in the valley of the Tereswa in the middle of the mountains of the Carpathians. The name of the place is derived from the Slavic word for oak.
history
The place gained importance when the local forest administration recruited forest workers from Bohemia to settle in the area. In 1910 he was in the Kingdom of Hungary in Máramaros County . After the end of the First World War it came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia (as part of the Carpathian Ukraine ) and was ceded to the USSR after the end of the Second World War . In 1971 the place received the status of an urban-type settlement .
General
The municipality also includes the places Vysniy Dubovets (Вишній Дубовець) and Nyschnij Dubowez (Нижній Дубовець). In 1969 a factory for the production of helicopters was set up here.
