Dragon counter songs

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The dragon counter songs were a street art project on the occasion of the Federal Garden Show 2005 in Munich . At various locations in Munich, 10 × 30 cm plaques were attached to the floor, on each of which a verse from the dragon counter songs could be read. In addition, each chapter and verse and the note art level, on 10 × 30cm, can be discussed and danced .

On the website of the project it was further explained: The art levels are license-free action sites that can be used by everyone, ie without obtaining permits, people can dance and / or perform facial expressions on them; An installation can also be set up at a maximum height of 3 meters without obtaining approval from the building department and the local building commission of the city of Munich.

The artists involved in the project formed the group of "dragon counters" (Robert Hofmann, Berkan Karpat , Philipp Kolb and Andreas Ohrenschall). The texts of the plaques come from Andreas Ohrenschall.

The condition of the badges is very different, depending mainly on how much they are exposed to traffic (parked cars, driveways, etc.). Some of the badges can no longer be found.

The table below lists the locations of the badges with texts and explanations.

Chapter I.
Munich - Orleansplatz and Wörthstrasse (dragon counter song) .jpg I / 1 Orleansplatz / corner of Wörthstraße “VIVE LA FRANCE!” Does not mean “tuez le dragon!” At the same time, but also counts the underworld plants to the roots of the boundless oak forests. The names of some of the Haidhauser squares and streets referred to French cities that were the scene of German aggression in the Franco-German War of 1870/71. Baron von Eichthal (1813-1880) had the first socio-politically motivated drawing board settlements built here.
Noimage.svg I / 2 Bordeauxplatz / Pariser Straße (former Max Reger houses) He went and heard more: nuances, large wings. Unrelated to the subject bitterly read a judgment from already yellowing papers, to throw it at him, who could weave dragon skins into thick sound. In memory of Max Reger and his departure from Munich, insulted by a music critic whose perception seeped into “Wagner versus Brahms” templates. Reger lived from October 1902 to September 1903 at Wörthstraße 20 on Bordeauxplatz.
Noimage.svg I / 3 Preysingstrasse / near Kriechbaumhof Wooden dragon disguised as a peasant shrine. Ruminating mummy - fresh geraniums well up from their mouths. Indigestible for invisible passers-by, as far as they lived nearby, their minds still growl with hunger for longing and roasted buttons.
Munich - Johannisplatz (dragon counter song, I-4) .jpg I / 4 Johannisplatz at the passage to Preysingstrasse Princely hedges rustle in your memory. Domus Dei brick red. Looking for edification in the building, tears streaked with locked gates. Flooded as far as the tower, some drown praying in the necks of their most hated beasts, about whose faces they agree, but ignore their origins in the most ignorant way. St. Johannes am Preysingplatz was the fourth Evangelical Lutheran church in Munich. It was completed in 1889. The Johannisplatz, formerly the palace and garden of the “Haidhauser Hofmark ” (1685-1812), then the so-called Metzgeranger, then after the incorporation of a sacred construction site with an accompanying legal dispute between the Archdiocese and the city of Munich, to whom the square now belongs the church is standing.

Knowledge and truth lean against each other like two drinking brothers - one might think. And haven't beauty and gravity always posed similar puzzles? From the libretto of Richard Wagner's opera Parsifal (1882):
PARSIFAL
I hardly step
but I think I'm already far.
GURNEMANZ
You see my son
time becomes space here.

Albert Einstein examined the connection between gravity and spacetime in his work on general relativity .

Noimage.svg I / 6 At Kreppe / Sckellstrasse Monopteros made of bones, infant pen for rat mothers. Metaphors of poverty shaken off slippery, reflective scales. Album flourishes for the local club. The steady stream of rural populations to Munich over the past 400 years found accommodation in the so-called "chambers" or hostels. The strong increase in immigration in the middle of the 19th century exacerbated poverty and made already cramped living space even tighter and more expensive. The hygienic conditions caused diseases like cholera. In the 60s and 70s of the 19th century, centrally planned apartment buildings for the poorer population were built in Haidhausen. Inexpensive and therefore often inadequate.

I / 9 Water management office at the weir house If dragons spit in the river, it foams like the sea, no mortal will get sick from it. In earlier times people tried to drown them here and let them drift as far as the Danube. That was bad for the citizens. After all, they were exuberant doppelgangers that had been shamefully decided to drive out.

The said acknowledgment was an address of thanks probably going back to Rumford to the elector Karl Theodor , bypassing the Munich council, which led to a journalistic dispute with various pamphlets, in which the elector finally intervened and in 1790 refused to "confirm" the newly elected council that Munich was without a city government. Only after the aforementioned gesture of submission could a new election take place according to guidelines changed by the elector.

IV / 4 Mariannenplatz tram stop (1919-1929). One lived not far. Quite normal and no one thought, not even a victim of his future, to undermine fate. For easy-going in normal dealings, awkward curses only seemed to grow out of normal grief, probably a whim. His entourage - all of them lived - later a little less sociable, but still quite everyday, very organized. The most regulated of all dragons, he lives so deeply, it would be too dark for cave tetras that no one can drive him away.
