Dragan Jerković (born December 8, 1975 in Metković , Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player . His body length is 1.90 m.
Jerković, who has played for the German club TV 1893 Neuhausen since summer 2018 and played for the Croatian men's national handball team, is a goalkeeper .
Dragan Jerković made his debut for RK Brodomerkur Split in the Croatian first division and later moved to RK Metković Jambo . Although he never made it with his club to get past series champion RK Zagreb, but he won the EHF Cup in 2000 and reached the final of this competition again in 2001. In 2001 he decided to switch to the German handball league for ThSV Eisenach . With the Thuringians he was always in the basement of the table until the team finally relegated in 2004. After half a year in the second division, Jerković was released in February 2005 to the first division club SV Post Schwerin , with whom he was also relegated. So he returned to his homeland in the summer of 2005 and joined the RK Agram Medveščak Zagreb. After a year with the capital city, he joined the Swiss NLA club Kadetten Schaffhausen in 2006 , where he became champion, cup winner and Supercup winner. In 2007 he was hired by the financially strong Croatian series champion RK Zagreb, with whom he won the championship in 2008. From January 4, 2009 he played for the Portuguese club FC Porto, with whom he won the championship in 2009 and 2010. For the 2010/11 season Jerković signed a contract with the French second division US Créteil Handball . In 2013 he left Créteil. On January 24, 2014, TV Bittenfeld signed him. At the end of the 2014/15 season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the TVB. From the 2015/16 season , Jerković played in the Bundesliga with the club now operating under the name TVB 1898 Stuttgart . After the 2016/17 season he joined VfL Eintracht Hagen . A change in the summer of 2018 to third division TV 1893 Neuhausen failed because the club had to file for bankruptcy. Jerković therefore moved to the Württemberg division TSV Alfdorf / Lorch. From the 2019/20 season he will work as a goalkeeping coach at the Kadetten Schaffhausen and at the Suisse Handball Academy.
Dragan Jerković has played 65 international matches for the Croatian men's national handball team. With his country he won the 1997 Mediterranean Games in Bari. At the men's handball world championship in 2007 in Germany, he was number 1 of his team due to the injury-related failure of goalkeeper Vlado Šola ; in the end, however, Croatia only took 5th place. At the European Handball Championship in Norway in 2008 , he was runner-up with his country. Jerković took part in the Summer Olympics with Croatia.
