Dream of Christmas ( English for "Dream of Christmas") is a Christmas carol of German synth pop - singer Peter Heppner .
Creation and publication
The song was written jointly by Peter Heppner, Lothar Mannfeuffel and Dirk Rieger. The single was arranged and produced by Thommy Hein . The first release of Dream of Christmas was carried out as a single download via Facebook on December 7, 2012. Here is this is not a conventional single release , so the song is still not as maxi-single released. The song was only released as a free track for promotional purposes, as a Christmas present for all Heppner fans . In addition to the English version, a German version of the song with the title Dream of Christmas was published at the same time . Both versions were offered annually at Christmas time, between the years 2012 to 2015, for free download for a "I like" on the official Heppners Facebook page.
background information
Heppner played the song live for the first time during a concert on Straße E in Dresden on November 23, 2013. During his My Heart of Stone tour , which began in November 2012 and lasted until March 2013, he played Dream of Christmas at all of his concerts which took place during Advent in November and December 2012.

The music video for Dream of Christmas was shot on November 28, 2012 at Bremen's market square and celebrated its premiere on December 25, 2012 on YouTube . You can see alternating scenes of passers-by visiting the local Christmas market and excerpts from Heppner during a concert in the Bremen slaughterhouse . The video ends with the statement “Give love and make up. Peter Heppner ". The total length of the video is 3:25 minutes. As with the music videos for Glasgarten and the previous single Meine Welt , Ulrike Rank again directed.

Due to the fact that the song was made available for free download, the song was not placed in any official charts and exact download and sales figures are also unknown. The title can still not be found on any of Heppner's official albums, and neither of these songs has appeared on any sampler .
