content

The lyrics to Dream of You are written in English and translated into German means “dream of you”. The music was written by Christopher von Deylen and Mirko von Schlieffen, the text specially written by Heppner. Musically, the song moves in the field of ambient and electronic dance music . The tempo is 120 beats per minute . In addition to the main vocals by Heppner, the voice of Goethe's heirs singer Mindy Kumbalek and the voice of German classical singer Isgaard in the choir can be heard in the background . The German musician Tissy Thiers was hired on bass and guitar as an additional instrumentalist.

The song describes a person who keeps asking himself the same question, whether he really wants to spend his life lonely and alone until the end of his life and only wants to dream of her dream partner, who she will never have.

"I've been here all the time
As far as I know doing right
I've always waited for the moment
That you would come through my door
But this brought loneliness so far
I lay my hand onto my heart
Is this the life I want to live
Is this the dream I had of you? "

- 1st stanza, original excerpt

“I was here the whole time
As far as I know, I did everything right.
I always waited for the moment
when you step through my door.
But until now this has brought (only) loneliness.
So I ask my heart:
Is this life that i want to live
Is that the dream I had of you? "

- 1st stanza, translation
