Zoran Drvenkar
Zoran Drvenkar (born July 19, 1967 in Križevci , SR Croatia , Yugoslavia ) is a German writer .
Life
Zoran Drvenkar was born on July 19, 1967 in Križevci and came to Berlin with his parents at the age of three. He grew up in Charlottenburg .
He temporarily took jobs in the kindergarten or organic store, and worked as a freelancer for the Berliner Tagesspiegel for a few months . After 1989 he first went to Bavaria and then lived from 1991 to 1994 in a caravan in the Netherlands . In 1995 he returned to Berlin. Today he lives near Berlin in a former grain mill.
He has been working as a freelance writer since 1989 . He writes contemporary literature, mostly novels , poems , plays and short stories , for both children and young people and adults. The genres include youth books , thrillers , science fiction and crime novels , among others .
Drvenkar earned several grants from the Berlin Senate, several contracts for work with the Berlin artist support and twice the Alfred Döblin grant from the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
In 2004 he wrote the children's book Die Kurzhosengang under the pseudonym of the alleged Canadians Victor Caspak & Yves Lanois and received the German Youth Literature Prize for it in 2005.
