history
The place was first mentioned in 1303 as "Öckershof". The place name has the personal name of the founder as a defining word, although it is unclear whether his name was Otgerjes or Eckehard .
In 1732 there were 2 properties in Eckershof, according to the descriptions of Johann Georg Vetter . One of the whole courtyards was under the hospital authority of the Holy Spirit of the Imperial City of Nuremberg and the other whole courtyard was under the Nuremberg owner von Stromer . Towards the end of the 18th century, Bertelsdorf formed a community with Eckershof. There were 3 properties in Eckershof. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach judge's office in Roßtal . The manorial division was the same as in 1732. However, the Stromer'schen Hof was broken up into 2 half-courtyards. Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, Eckershof was given house numbers 8 to 11 in Bertelsdorf.
As part of the municipal edict, Eckershof was assigned to the Regelsbach tax district , 1st section in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Regelsbach formed in 1818 . In 1925 Bertelsdorf and Eckershof applied to be reunited with Stein, but this was rejected by the Regelsbach community. On January 1, 1967, Eckershof was incorporated into Stein.
