history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1303 as "zu Büchelein", which probably meant Ober (Weiher's) book. The place originally consisted of the two settlement centers Oberbuch and Weihersbuch. In the 15th century, both localities were listed separately.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 10 properties in Oberweihersbuch. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The rulership of the village and the community was partly held by the Landpflegamt of the Imperial City of Nuremberg , and partly by the Cadolzburg Office. The landlords were the Cadolzburg caste office (1 yard); the imperial city of Nuremberg: Spitalamt (1 inn, 1 half courtyard), Katharinenamt (1 half courtyard); the Nuremberg owners of Behaim (2 half yards), von Holzschuher (1 yard), von Kreß (1 half yard), from Murr (1 yard, 1 half yard).

In 1806 the place Oberweihersbuch passed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district and the rural community of Stein were formed in 1808 , to which Oberweihersbuch also belonged. In the voluntary jurisdiction, 1 property from 1822 to 1834 was subject to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Almoshof , 2 properties from 1823 to 1835 to the PG Leyh and 2 properties from 1823 to 1835 to the PG Nemsdorf . On December 4, 1841, the rural community Weihersbuch was formed, to which Ober- and Unterweihersbuch belonged. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office . From 1862 Weihersbuch was administered by the Nuremberg District Office . Jurisdiction has been with the Nuremberg District Court since 1880 . The financial management was taken over in 1870 by the Nuremberg Rent Office ( renamed the Nuremberg Tax Office in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 5,260 km². On January 1, 1927, Weihersbuch was incorporated into Stein.
