Sir Edward Beckwith Ashmore , GCB , DSC (born December 11, 1919 in Queenstown , County Cork , Ireland ; † April 28, 2016 in Brendoncare, Froxfield, Marlborough , Wiltshire ) was a British naval officer in the Royal Navy who served as admiral between 1974 and 1977 first Sea Lord (first Sea Lord) and chief of Staff of the Navy (chief of naval Staff) was.
