Edward Schoeneck (born August 1, 1875 in Syracuse , New York , † June 22, 1951 ibid) was an American lawyer and politician ( Republican Party ).

Career

Edward Schoeneck was a member of the New York State Assembly between 1904 and 1907 . Then he was Mayor of Syracuse between 1910 and 1913. He ran unsuccessfully for the office of lieutenant governor of New York in 1910 . It was not until the gubernatorial elections of 1914 that he was elected lieutenant governor of New York as running mate of Charles S. Whitman , but he was defeated when he tried to re-elect in 1918. Then in 1933 he took part in the New York Constituent Assembly which ratified the 21st Amendment .
