Eickhorst is a part of the municipality of Dehre in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt .

The Altmark Eickhorst, a short street village with church, situated two kilometers west of Dähre at the Stupid .

history

In 1223 a Hogerus de Eckhorst is mentioned in a document from the Bishop of Verden about an exchange of goods in Dehre. Eickhorst is first mentioned in 1315 as villa Ekhorst when Margrave Johann sold villages to the Diesdorf monastery .

In the Landbuch der Mark Brandenburg from 1375 the place is listed as Eykhorst .

Incorporations

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Eickhorst from the district of Salzwedel was incorporated into the municipality of Dehre.

Culture and sights

  • The field stone church in Eickhorst is a building from the 15th century with a brick-Gothic east gable and a boarded bell tower. The church is a branch church of the church in Dehre. It is surrounded by a cemetery.
