The 1999/2000 season was the 61st season of the Eliteserien , the highest Norwegian ice hockey division . Champion was for the fourth time in the club's history Storhamar Ishockey .

In the main round, each of the nine teams played a total of 38 games. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs in which the champions were played out. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
