Erdgarten-Lauerwiesen is the name of a cross- local nature reserve with a size of 121.77  hectares in the area of the municipality of Hövelhof and the city of Delbrück in the Paderborn district . It is managed with the number PB-002 and was designated as a protected area in 2008 for the preservation and optimization of the wet meadow area with its community, the lowland of the Kroll and Haustenbach and valuable wet forest communities.

location

The two-area nature reserve Erdgarten-Lauerwiesen naturally belongs to the sub-area of the Feuchtsenne within the Ostmünsterland . It is located south of the Hövelhofer settlement area and east of the Ostland district of Delbrück . The Delbrück city limits run through the greater part of the area, while a second area separated from this area with a size of around ten hectares is located entirely on Delbrück district. The protected area is crossed by the Krollbach in the north to south-west area, the Haustenbach runs just south of the area border.

Characteristic

The NSG Erdgarten-Lauerwiesen is a wet meadow protection area in an almost flat, low-lying area , which is characterized by a varied structure into predominantly extensively used wet and wet meadows, ditches and streams, broken forests and the rows of trees, individual trees and hedges that are typical of the East Munsterland park landscape . A special feature is the presence of the now now rare marsh marigold meadows . Further found transitions to sedge, flood grassland communities and reedbed backlogs. Numerous blanks were created within the groundwater- shaped area. Also of great importance for the protected area is the occurrence of differently developed alder forests , which can be found in addition to pure forms as a transition form to the forest community of alluvial areas.

Flora and fauna

The latest survey found 220 ferns and flowering plants within the protected area, 55 of which are on the Red List of Endangered Species . These include the common late yellow sedge ( Carex oederi ), the wire sedge ( Carex diandra ), the thread rush ( Juncus filiformis ) and the dwarf hedgehog ( Sparganium natans ). The water feather ( Hottonia palustris ) occurs in large stocks in the area, the species flooding swaths ( Glyceria fluitans ), brown sedge ( Carex nigra ) and marsh horsetail ( Equisetum palustre ) are regularly distributed .

The most recent mapping of the avifauna identified the species of curlew ( Numenius arquata ), lapwing ( Vanellus vanellus ), common snipe ( Gallinago gallinago ), golden oriole ( Oriolus oriolus ) and marsh harrier ( Circus aeruginosus ) as breeding birds. Within the Krollbach there is an occurrence of brown trout ( Salmo trutta fario ), bullhead ( Cottus gobio ) and brook lamprey ( Lampetra planeri ), which reach their main distribution center within the water body in the flow area of the protected area.

One of the species of locust found in the reserve is the marsh insect ( Stethophyma grossum ).
