The season 2013/14 was the 11th season of the FIBA Europe discharged Euro Challenge .

Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia from Italy won the title for the first time .

mode

32 teams took part in the tournament. Unlike in previous years, no qualification had to be played. The regular season was played in eight groups of 4 teams each. It was divided into two regional conferences. The group winners and runners-up continued to play in the second group stage with four groups of four teams, with the two best in each group qualifying for the quarter-finals. The quarterfinals were played according to the "best of three" mode. The winners of the quarter-finals determined the winner of the tournament in a Final Four.

1 : Previous year placement in the national leagues

1st group stage

The first group stage matches took place between November 5 and December 18, 2013.

In order to reduce travel distances and the resulting costs for the teams, two regional conferences were played:

  • The groups A, C, E and G consisted mostly of teams in the Western European space
  • Groups B, D, F and H consisted mostly of teams in the East European space

For teams with the same number of wins, it was not the total point ratio that was decisive for the group placements, but only the added result in a direct comparison of the teams with one another.
