Fårösund is a place ( Tatort ) on the Swedish island of Gotland in the Gotland County and the historic Gotland Province .

The place in the municipality of Gotland is located at the northern end of the island on the sound of the same name . On the opposite side is the island of Fårö . There is a free ferry connection to Fårö from here.

From July 1, 1937 to October 31, 2000, Gotland's kustartilleriregemente, KA 3 , a coastal artillery regiment of the Swedish Navy , was stationed in Fårösund .
