The Thai FA Cup 2016 ( Thai ไทย เอ ฟ เอ คั พ ) was the 21st season of a knockout soccer competition in Thailand . The FA Cup was sponsored by Thai Beverage and was known as the Chang FA Cup for sponsorship purposes . The tournament was organized by the Thai Football Association. The tournament began with the qualifying round on May 18, 2016 . Due to the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej , the competition was canceled after the quarterfinals in 2016 and the title was awarded to all four remaining participants (Chainat Hornbill FC, Chonburi FC, Ratchaburi Mitr Phol, Sukhothai FC).
